This project started with making this machine work again

repairing a 4 axis cnc machine that my college seniors had
built several years ago ,
this was the state we found it in.
got it working , but it was not precise as intended , then it was decided to build it
properly with new parts , we researched lots of stuff , ordered parts ,
made cad for custom parts , assembled the machine , tinkered with the
grbl firmware , write custom software , and fine tuned settings for
different types of foams , iterated many times , and made several parts
along the way.

purposes , reducing time and labor. this tech could also be potentially
- it is a machine with which we can cut arbitrary 3d shapes out of foam and thermocol. i along with some friends wrote custom slicer and gcode generator software for this kind of machine , which is one of its kind. it was initially intended to cut parts for rc planes , but it has more potential than that, primarily in making props for decorative
used in wire edm machines , enabling to cut complex shapes from metal parts with extreme precision which comes from wire edm.
