Handheld gaming device
This project initially started for this Competition
whose main objective was
I had a idea - what if there is a led strip around the device and just few buttons , this would cost little , and would be a great fidget toy, i made a team with my friends in college and participated in this competition
started with inspirations by watching several yt videos in this domain
Here are components i used in v1
After ordering the parts , i started working on the emulated version of this in wokwi, made the schematic , connected things and made the each component work on there own (lights , display, speaker)
wrote 3 different test sketches to test these individually, and then also made a kind of boiler-plate code to use these components in games which will be coded later
My team ideated on which games to make , we cameup with 4 games. next each member took on a game to code.
Here is a game one of my teammate Sreekar made.
It was definitely slower than actual version
While my friends were working on code, The components arrived and i assembled the schematic from wokwi into real life on breadboard. which is this Device Video
it took me 2-3 hours to wire it, and surprisingly it just worked without any problems , i was so happy, the upfront planning worked
Then we kept working on the code and implemented and tested games.
This is one of my most organized projects so far as i was working with a team i tried to keep things organized (here is a miro board for it)
